How to do Custom Facility Risk Scorecards for process chemical data reporting?

This guidance article provides step-by-step instructions on how to generate Custom Facility Risk Scorecards for process chemical data reporting using the RBA's Chemical Platform, which may be done to satisfy conformance with EPEAT-COC-2025 criterion 6.4.2, implementation of the RBA's Chemical Management Leadership Program (CMLP), and/or contribution to RBA's Process Chemical Data Collection (PCDC) Campaigns.

Step 1: Generate Standard Facility Risk Scorecard

  1. Before generating Custom Facility Risk Scorecards, Chemical Platform users must first generate standard Facility Risk Scorecards in accordance with the Facility Risk Rating Methodology by following the guidance article ‘How to generate Facility Risk Scorecards?’.
    1. For full details on the Facility Risk Rating Methodology, please reference the guidance article ‘How are Facility Risk Ratings assigned?’.
  2. In the ‘Uses & Controls’ tab, typically optional ‘Training’, ‘PPE’, ‘Technical Function’, ‘Process Category’ and ‘Product Category’ data in the grey columns must be specified for registered products to satisfy ecolabel requirements on process chemical reporting.
    1. For specifying the appropriate ‘Application Method’, ‘Person’, ‘Ventilation’, ‘Training’, and ‘PPE’ data, please reference CEPN's PCDC Tool guidance.
    2. For specifying the appropriate ‘Technical Function’, ‘Process Category’, and ‘Product Category’ data, please reference ECHA Guidance R12 v3.

Note - The Chemical Platform’s expanded usage of ECHA R.12 Process Categories (i.e., ‘PROCs’) is redundant with the PCDC Tool’s ‘Manual Chemical Application Method’ selection options (e.g., brush/swab, dip/bath, hand wipe, spray, syringe) and ‘Enclosure’ selection options (e.g., closed, semi-closed, open). Specifically for ‘Enclosure’, PROC1 = closed, PROC2 and PROC3 = semi-closed, and all other PROCs = open. Specifically for ‘Manual Chemical Application Method’, PROC5 = mixing or blending, PROC7 = spraying, PROC10 = roller or brushing, PROC13 = dipping and pouring, PROC19 = hand wipe, PROC20 = syringe.

Step 2: Generate Custom Facility Risk Scorecard for Process Chemical Reporting

  1. In the ‘Scorecard’ tab of a facility in the Chemical Platform, users may generate Custom Facility Risk Scorecards that are limited to customer-specific Product Lines and/or Chemical Roles (e.g., Process Chemicals) using the Risk Scorecard Scope filter options.
    1. For reporting process chemical data of your facilities, you may generate Custom Facility Risk Scorecards by limiting your facility scorecard data to ‘Process Chemical’ only in the ‘Chemical Roles’ filter menu.
    2. For collecting process chemical data from supplier facilities, your suppliers may generate Custom Facility Risk Scorecards by limiting their facility scorecard data to Product Lines only related to your business in the ‘Product Lines’ filter menu and to ‘Process Chemical’ only in the ‘Chemical Roles’ filter menu.

Step 3: Export Custom Facility Risk Scorecards and Share

  1. After verifying that scorecard data only includes process chemicals and applicable customer-specific Product Lines, generate the Custom Facility Risk Scorecard by clicking the ‘Download PDF and Excel’ button.
    1. Note: Facility Risk Scorecards include both the exported PDF and Excel files together.
  2. Export/download and share Custom Facility Risk Scorecards for process chemical reporting outside of the Chemical Platform (e.g., email, shared folders, customer systems, etc.) with their customers and/or stakeholders, which may be done to support satisfaction of EPEAT-COC-2025 criterion 6.4.2, implementation of CMLP requirements, and contributions to PCDC Campaigns.
