How to access the RBA Chemical Platform

Getting Started with the Chemical Platform

The RBA Chemical Platform (CP) is available at no cost to RBA member companies and their suppliers that have an RBA subscription. Although the CP is a separate online platform from RBA-Online, it is fully integrated with RBA-Online through roundtrip API for users to leverage their existing company, facility, and trading relationships data in RBA-Online as a foundation for collecting emissions inventory data in the CP. To access and use the web-based CP, you must first have an active RBA-Online user account with the Chemical Platform Admin role assigned.

Step 1: Assign Chemical Platform Admin role to RBA-Online users

The process for assigning the ‘Chemical Platform Admin’ role to your RBA-Online user accounts depends on your organization's membership status:

For RBA Members:
  1. Ask any of your organization's RBA-Online Company Admins to assign the ‘Chemical Platform Admin’ role to your RBA-Online user account. Company Admins can manage and add new users to their organization's RBA-Online account by following the user guidance article ‘How to Manage Users in RBA-Online'.
For Non-Member Suppliers of RBA Members:
  1. Contact the RBA Help Desk at helpdesk@responsiblebusiness.org to request supplier verification and to establish trading relationships between your organization's facilities and your RBA member customers.
  2. Once verified, contact the RBA Help Desk at helpdesk@responsiblebusiness.org and CC rei@responsiblebusiness.org to request the Chemical Platform Admin role be assigned to your RBA-Online user account.

Step 2: Add RBA-Online Facilities and Users to Chemical Platform

RBA-Online users may add their facilities, supplier facilities, and users to the CP in the ‘Chemical Platform’ dropdown menu, which becomes available to users when the Chemical Platform Admin role is assigned to their user accounts.

  • In the ‘Chemical Platform’ menu, select ‘My Requests’ to view and manage CP requests from your customers.
  1. Respond to each customer request by selecting the ‘Options’ button and then ‘Respond’ to open the ‘Respond’ window where you may either accept or reject the request.
    1. Accept customer requests for each organization (facility or company) by selecting ‘Accept’ in the ‘Response’ column and then selecting all users that you wish to have access to it in the CP in the ‘Users’ column.
    2. Reject customer requests for each organization (facility or company) by selecting ‘Reject’ in the ‘Response’ column and then adding a note in the ‘Comment’ column to explain why you are rejecting the customer request.
    3. Select the ‘Confirm’ button to open the ‘Confirmation’ window.
    4. Select the ‘Yes’ button to confirm your responses and acknowledge that your CP data will be shared with your customers that you've accepted requests from. RBA-Online will process the request and confirm that the customer requests where responded to.

Step 3: Login to the Chemical Platform
