How to add custom Chemical Lists for chemicals of concern screening?
Chemical Platform users may upload custom materials restrictions and chemicals of concern lists under the Chemical Screening tab of their company account interface. The Chemical Screening tab allows users to screen their facilities' chemical inventories against various restricted substances, declarable substances, and material restrictions to identify and assess conformance with regulatory chemicals of concern, voluntary initiatives, and customer chemical disclosure requirements. Chemical Lists, once uploaded, are visible to all Chemical Platform users.
To create a new list:
- Click “+ Add Chemical List”

- Specify the Chemical List name and type (negative or positive) and click “Save”

- To populate the newly created Chemical List:
- Click on the Chemical List to open the Chemical List view

- Click “Import" and then download the Chemical List template

- Select “Download Template” in the right corner of the screen

- Populate the Chemical List template with CAS registry numbers for each chemical substance

- Click “Select File” and select the template that's populated with the Chemical List CAS registry numbers
- To finish uploading the Chemical List, select “Upload”

All CAS numbers are verified against PubChem, and some chemical substances may be associated with multiple CAS numbers. From the Import view, users may download the log file to review any errors. To view the chemical lists that have been pre-populated in the Chemical Platform, view the table below.
Pre-Populated Chemical Lists:
Disclaimer: Some pre-populated Chemical Lists include Chemicals that have yet to receive CAS number assignment, making them difficult to identify using the Chemical Screening function. If you know of any use of Chemicals without CAS numbers (specifically PFAS/PFOA), please use the linked lists to assess whether or not they are restricted/banned.
