Learn how to onboard your organization, invite suppliers, and respond to customer data-sharing requests.

The REI Platform is accessible to both RBA members and non-members with active RBA-Online subscriptions. RBA members can onboard their organizations, invite suppliers to participate, and request access to supplier data.
Non-members can onboard their own organizations (organizations are registered RBA Online facilities) and respond to customer requests. There are three primary ways to begin using the platform: onboard your own company and facilities, invite suppliers, or respond to customer requests for data sharing.
This guide explains how to onboard, manage organizations, submit supplier requests, and respond to customer requests in the REI Platform.
Note: Users assigned to the REI Platform through onboarding or when responding to customer requests will receive an automated email with a link and instructions for accessing the platform. If you do not receive this email or need support, please reach out to helpdesk@responsiblebusiness.org
Option 1: Onboard Your Own Company and/or Facilities
Organizations can onboard themselves to the REI Platform through the My Organizations section in RBA-Online. This option is available to both RBA members and non-members with RBA-Online accounts.

To get started, navigate to REI Platform > My Organizations and select Add Organizations. Add your company and choose the facilities you want to include. Here you can also designate specific tools and add specific users.

When adding an organization, select whether to include company-level data, facility-level data, or both. You will also be prompted to assign the users who will manage reporting activities for each organization. Those users will automatically receive access to the REI Platform and onboarding instructions via email if they have not previously been provisioned.

Once submitted, your company and selected facilities will appear in the My Organizations view, where you can manage organizations and update assigned users as needed.
Option 2: Invite Your Suppliers (RBA Members Only)
RBA members can request environmental data from their suppliers through the My Suppliers section of the REI Platform.

A trading relationship with the supplier must be established before initiating a request. If you have not yet established a trading relationship, please refer to the Creating & Managing Trading Relationships guidance article.
To submit a request, navigate to REI Platform > My Suppliers and select Add Request. You may choose supplier companies and facilities with which you already have an established Trading Relationship in RBA-Online. For each supplier, you can request company-level data, facility-level data, or both, and specify which REI Platform tools you are requesting.

Please note that initiating this request does not automatically grant the supplier access to the REI Platform. After the request is submitted, the supplier will receive a notification prompting them to review the request. The request status will appear in the Supplier Organizations view, allowing you to track whether the request is pending, accepted, or rejected. Until a supplier responds, you may edit the request if updates are needed.
If a supplier accepts the request, data-sharing permissions are established and visibility to approved REI Platform data is granted according to the supplier's response. If a supplier rejects a request, any comments they provide will be available for review. More details on acknowledging requests is shown in Option 3: Respond to Customer Requests.
Option 3: Respond to Customer Requests
Both RBA members and non-members can receive and respond to customer requests through the Customer Requests section of the REI Platform.

When a customer requests access to your company or facility data, the request will appear in REI Platform > Customer Requests. Each request will appear in an individual row—to accept or reject the request, click on “Respond” under the Options drop-down menu. A pop-up window will appear where you can select the response status (Accept or Reject) and assign users.

By accepting a request, you authorize the sharing of approved REI Platform data with the requesting customer and allow the corresponding data-sharing relationship to be established. Any newly assigned users will automatically receive onboarding instructions for accessing the REI Platform via e-mail. Once submitted, the request status will be updated and both parties will be able to see the outcome of the request.
