Guidance for Suppliers: Using an Authorization Code to Pay for SAQ Verification

What Is an Authorization Code?

An authorization code is a unique code generated by an RBA Member Company to cover the cost of a supplier’s SAQ verification. This code allows suppliers to submit a verification request without making a direct payment, as the sponsoring RBA Member has agreed to pay the fee.

When to Use an Authorization Code

Use an authorization code only if an RBA Member has explicitly agreed to sponsor your SAQ verification. The code is not transferable and is valid only for the specific supplier and verification request for which it was issued.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Supplier Requests Sponsorship: If you are a supplier and would like your SAQ verification sponsored, please get in touch with your RBA Member customer to request sponsorship.
2. RBA Member Requests Authorization Code: If the RBA Member agrees to sponsor your verification, they will:

  • Submit a request to the RBA to generate an authorization code for RBA Online sponsorship activities as described here: (How to Request an Authorization Code)
  • Receive the code from the RBA once it is created.

3. RBA Member Shares the Code: The RBA Member will then share the authorization code directly with you (the supplier).
4. Supplier Submits Verification Request: Once you receive the code:

  • Log in to the RBA Online platform.
  • Go to the SAQ Verification Request section.
  • Choose the option to pay using an authorization code.
  • Enter the code when prompted.

5. Verification Request Is Processed: After submission, your request will be processed, and the verification will proceed normally, without requiring direct payment from you.

If you encounter any issues, contact your RBA Member sponsor or the RBA Helpdesk for assistance.
